Create one consistent professional identity

Use the same public name, accurate professional title, primary location and core specialisms across your website, BYOU profile and relevant memberships. Link those presences where appropriate. Explain ambiguous titles in language a prospective client understands, and keep former business names or spelling variants from fragmenting your public identity.

Give every substantial service its own evidence

A service page should identify the provider, intended audience, scope, format, duration, confirmed price and booking route. Include location eligibility where it matters. Search systems can make stronger connections when the expert, service and organization are described consistently on crawlable pages.

Answer questions from professional experience

Publish material only when you can add something beyond a generic summary. Explain what clients should compare, how a process works, where your scope ends or what you have learned in practice. Specific, attributable insight gives both readers and AI systems a clearer reason to use the page as a source.

Show who wrote and reviewed the content

Add a visible author name, role and relevant biography. Connect the author to a stable profile and reputable external references. Use an updated date when the substance changes. In regulated or health-related subjects, identify the qualified reviewer when a separate review has genuinely taken place.

Earn independent corroboration

Professional-body profiles, podcast notes, event speaker pages, partner websites, books and genuine editorial coverage can connect your name with your field. Ask for links where your contribution is real and the destination helps the reader. Avoid purchased links, mass directories, copied guest posts and automated forum promotion.

Keep the technical route simple

Public pages should return useful HTML before JavaScript, use one canonical URL, appear in an XML sitemap and avoid accidental noindex directives. Link important pages from normal navigation or contextual text. Add accurate structured data that matches visible content instead of creating hidden claims.

Use images and media as evidence

Add high-quality, relevant professional images with descriptive alternative text. A real headshot, workshop image or short explanatory video can strengthen understanding when it is accurate and appropriately consented. Do not use unrelated stock imagery to imply a client, venue or result.

Measure discovery without chasing an AI score

Search Console can show when your pages appear in Google’s generative AI features, but it does not provide a universal AI rank. Watch which pages gain impressions, improve pages already close to page one and compare qualified visits over time. Treat an AI mention as one discovery route, not the objective of the practice.

Avoid shortcuts that weaken trust

An llms.txt file or repeated keyword variation cannot replace useful content and public authority. Do not create hundreds of near-identical pages for every possible question or city. Build a smaller set of strong pages, keep facts current and let real expert experience determine what deserves publication.
